Regular examinations and maintenance give you the best chance of keeping your teeth healthy long term. We recommend that you come in for a checkup at least once every six months, however you may need more frequent visits, depending on your individual health condition.
What to Expect
If you are a new patient, we’ll start by taking complete records of your mouth to give us a baseline we can then monitor for any change, throughout the rest of your life. Our skilled dentists will do a comprehensive evaluation to check for any potential issues. Symptoms often don’t show up until a problem has become advanced, hence why we want to catch any damage early, when it’s still reversible or easily fixed.
One of our rigorously trained dental hygienists or oral health therapists will measure your gum attachment levels at 6 sites around each tooth to determine the health of your tooth foundations. We’ll check for disease, determine the severity of any issue, and recommend treatment personalised to your needs.
During future visits, we’ll take new measurements to evaluate your progress. Our aim is to help you achieve total oral health by treating any impediments and showing you how to stay healthy for the rest of your life.
